Frenchman Romain Poite will take charge of the London Wasps versus Cardiff Blues Amlin Semi Final on 1st May

After taking on the role of assistant referee for Munster's Heineken Cup quarter final, Poite who has refereed the Blues once this season will take charge of the semi final in Wycombe on the first day of May.

Poite has refereed six European games in total this season and hasn't been in charge of a Wasps game this term.

Of this season's games, the Frenchman has doled out an average of zero red cards and 1.7 yellows, with an average of 3.3 tries scored per match compared to Nigel Owens who has an average of 0.3 yellow cards issued and 4.6 tries per match.

Mr. Poite visited Cardiff City Stadium when the Blues beat Sale Sharks in January, he awarded Martyn Williams a yellow card during this game, as the Blues triumphed 36-19. He was also in charge for the Blues victories over Calvisano in January 2009 and Harlequins in 2008 as well as Wasps win over Edinburgh in 2006.
