Jonny Vaughton joined Cardiff Blues in June 2003. He began a successful first season in the Wales under-21 squad in 2002-03 as a wing in the team that beat New Zealand at Cardiff Arms Park.
For the under-21 Six Nations tournament he moved from the wing to outside centre after the first two games. Then in the under-21 World Cup competition in England in June 2003 he played again on the wing against Scotland, Argentina and South Africa, scoring a try against the South Americans.
Previously with Swansea under-21, his pace and try-scoring ability mark him out as a wing with a great future.
