Cardiff Blues Announce Team To Play Connacht

10th September 2003

It’s business as usual in the back division but all-change up front in the Blues team to play Connacht in the Celtic League at Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday (5.30pm).

Coach David Young has made six changes, two of them positional, in the pack from the team that lost the league opener 13-23 at Glasgow.

Into the side come Ben Evans at tight-head prop, Dan McShane at lock and Rob Appleyard and James Malpas in the back row. The positional changes see Ken Fourie move across to loose-head prop and Dan Baugh switched to open-side flanker.

Additions to the Blues’ injury list include hooker T Rhys Thomas, who will be sidelined for up to four months with a torn cartilage, and Jim Brownrigg, who was stretchered off in Glasgow but expects to be available again in a fortnight.
