Blues look to boost support around region with fantastic offer

28th November 2012

Cardiff Blues are looking to reward supporters in the north of the region with an exclusive offer to those living in Powys

Heineken Cup action returns on Sunday 9th December, 12.45pm kick off, when Cardiff Blues take on Montpellier at the Arms Park. With Christmas just a few weeks away this is the ideal date and time to combine watching some top quality European rugby with some Christmas shopping in the city centre of the Welsh capital.

The Blues are looking to further embrace the region by giving supporters in Powys the chance to claim a terrace ticket for this match for just £10! The kick off time gives supporters plenty of time to travel down in the morning ahead of the match and enjoy the best shops and restaurants Cardiff has to offer following the final whistle.

Speaking of the offer Cardiff Blues Chief Executive Richard Holland said,

“We always enjoy tremendous backing from our supporters in Powys, as is always evident by the warm welcome we receive every year when we attend the Royal Welsh Show in Builth Wells.

“We also develop rugby talent in the area with Brecon boy Sam Hobbs being the latest product to come through the system.

“Sam is showing great form for the Blues since coming back from injury.

“Unfortunately due to the kick off times of Friday night matches our supporters from the north of the region cannot come down to watch matches as often as they would like.

“We felt that with the Montpellier Heineken Cup match kicking off at 12.45 on a Sunday this was the ideal match for supporters from Powys to travel down to watch some top class rugby and do some Christmas shopping.

“The Terrace ticket offer is our small way of saying thank you to them.

“I hope a lot of supporters take up the offer for what I’m sure will be an exciting match in Europe’s premier club competition.”

Cardiff Blues prop forward Sam Hobbs who hails from Brecon said,

“I think it’s a great idea to offer our supporters in Powys a reduced price ticket for the Montpellier match.”

“It’s a big Heineken Cup match for us and I’ve no doubt it will be a hard game but one that we are all looking forward to.”

“Hopefully we will have a good crowd down at the Arms Park and it’s a convenient time for families or partners to arrange a shopping trip together as well.”

Supporters living in Powys who wish to make the most of this exclusive offer can do so by calling the Cardiff Blues Ticket Office on 029 20 30 20 30. Ticket must be purchased in advance.

Please note there is a £1.50 booking fee per ticket.
