The Lions first played against the Wallabies in 1899, winning 13 – 3 at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney. Since then, there has been a total of 20 Test matches between the two teams, with the Wallabies winning 5 of them.
The most recent test, held at Stadium Australia, Sydney, on 14 July 2001, finished in a 29 – 23 win for the Wallabies sealing the series win for the Australians.
